FloodMaster's FM-194 Wireless Water Heater Alarm/Shut-Off System is ideal for minimizing water damage when hot water heater or water tank failures occur. This is accomplished by simply installing the FM-194 to the feed water line for the water tank.
Once the FloodMaster sensor detects leaking water, the system will automatically shut off the feed water intake and sound the alarm. This closed-loop system disables the cold water supply line to hot water tanks or similar applications with basic plumbing installation and no wiring.
The sensor is placed on the floor or in a pan near the pressure relief valve drain tube, or in a position where the leaking water would first appear. Wireless sensor pucks allow for leak detection on multiple floors or living levels.

When alarm sounds, fix problem and reset unit for continued protection
Can interface into a home security alarm system
Typical Installation
The most common installation of the FloodMaster FM-194 is on a residential hot water tank. The valve connection is placed in the feed water line to the tank (solder the Tee in place); tighten the plunger into the Tee using a common box wrench; and hand-tighten the actuator to the Tee. Place the sensor on the floor where the leak will most likely be detected (or in a pan under the tank, if used) and plug the transformer into a common wall outlet. This simple installation will provide low-cost leak detection and help minimize water damage should a leak be detected.
See below for instructions on controlling pump or other motorized device using optional relay signal connection on back of unit. Be sure to consult local electrical codes to ensure compliance.
