The FloodMaster FM-080 Series of Total Water Main Shut-Off and Alarm products are designed to detect a water leak and then automatically shut off the water supply line to the building. The basic difference between each model is the valve size required to interface to the water main pipe entering the building.
As compared to the other FloodMaster leak detection products – which are intended for localized appliance control – the FM-080 Series is designed for the complete shut-off of a building's water source. This offers protection from extensive water damage due to plumbing or appliance failures that could cause flooding. This complete system will disable the water supply to the building when water is sensed anywhere you place the sensor.
Customized installations can be configured by the installer to allow for longer cable lengths for both the sensor and/or the power supply. Up to six sensors per FloodMaster alarm box can be ordered. The sensor cable is a shielded configuration to eliminate electrical interference. The power supply line is not recommended to go beyond 800 feet. Consult FloodMaster LLC for all custom configurations. FloodMaster recommends that installation be completed by a professional plumber and that local code requirements are followed.
