Worried About The Installation Of Your FloodMaster Unit?

System installation instructions for all new FloodMaster units.

1) Turn off water supply to hot water heater.
 
2) Solder valve body into feed water line with arrow pointing toward tank. Remove any flux or solder residue from the inside of the valve body.
 
3) Install valve stem assembly into valve body. Tighten with a 3/4" box wrench.
DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN.
 
4) Install power head and hand tighten knurled nut.
       
 
5) Open water supply valve and inspect for leaks.
 
6) Place sensor on the floor or in the pan near the pressure relief valve drain tube.

 
7) Secure excess sensor cable to the drain tube using the supplied tie wraps.
 
8) If the unit is used without a pan it is recommended that a continuous bead of silicon be laid on the floor that encircles the hot water heater and sensor. This will help direct water flow towards sensor.
 
9) Plug transformer into a 110 VAC outlet.
 

10) Function test the system as follows:

  1. Place sensor on a wet paper towel.
  2. The alarm will sound and the valve will rotate (30 sec) to the
    closed position.
  3. Once the valve has completely closed (30 sec) open the hot water faucet
    and inspect for water flow (no flow).
  4. Remove the sensor from the paper towel, dry the contact points and place
    the sensor on the floor.
  5. Open the hot water faucet and inspect for water flow. (flow)
  6. To reset, unplug transformer and replug.

If System does not operate:

  • Check the electrical connections.
  • Check the outlet for 110 vac.
  • Contact the factory for technical assistance.
 
FloodMaster Inc., the Seller, warrants its products to be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use for a period of 10 years. The Sellers obligation under this warranty is solely and exclusively limited to the repair and replacement, FOB point of manufacture, the product or part thereof which the Seller’s inspection discloses to be defective. Modification, misuse, attempted repair by others, improper installation, or operation shall render this warranty null and void. There are no other warranties expressed or implied whether of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or otherwise. The Seller shall in no event be liable for any property damage, personal injury, or any consequential damages, resulting directly or indirectly form the use or operation of any goods purchased from the Seller, or for any apparatus or equipment containing goods purchased from the Seller. Purchaser by its acceptance of Seller’s product, assumes all risk and liability of the consequence of any use or misuse by the Purchaser or others. The Seller makes no other guarantees, warranties, or representations whether expressed or implied relating to the manufacture and sale of its products.
